OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY

Compiled by: Gary W. Summers

1 CHRONICLES

EXPLANATION
There is no need for an outline; this book consists primarily of two principles subjects: genealogies and the life of David. Chapters 1-9 and 23-27 are devoted exclusively to the former. Chapter 10 briefly mentions the life (actually, the death ) of Saul, and the remaining chapters discuss David. Little of 1 and 2 Samuel are repeated here; there is more of an emphasis on David's request and preparations for the building of the temple (22:7-8). Most scholars consider that Ezra wrote 1 and 2 Chronicles.
